P-VINE, Inc., a pioneer of the independent music scene in Japan, is launching two new businesses: Vinyl Goes Around Pressing, an analog record pressing factory in Japan, and a blockchain-enabled NFT service for the Metaverse.

In 2021, P-VINE launched the Vinyl Goes Around project to contribute to increasing the value of analog records around the world. Since then, Vinyl Goes Around has developed a variety of products based on the concept of “making lots of records available to lots of people”.

This coming spring, P-VINE will launch Vinyl Goes Around Pressing, a vinyl pressing factory. As we strive to improve the quality of our products, maintain reasonable production prices and a prompt delivery schedule, we also hope to undertake pressing work for other artists and labels, both domestic and international. Beyond simply being a factory, we hope that it can become a “space” for music lovers to gather, and even host small-scale events.

In addition, we will launch the project utilizing blockchain and NFT technologies by the end of the year. The newly developed vinyl record is a new format that allows users to experience music both as a physical record and digitally. Unlike the sale of second-hand records in the physical world, our new marketplace will return royalties to the rights holders for secondary sales. This project aims to transcend the boundaries of the physical world to deliver records in the metaverse, creating a new digital “space” in which music lovers can come together.

One of P-VINE’s goals is to maintain the diversity and quality of Japan’s independent music scene, in the face of increasing homogeneity. By creating an environment in which lesser known artists and smaller labels can press analog records and distribute their music to the world, including the Metaverse, we hope to deliver a new music listening experience that straddles the physical and virtual worlds.

We at P-VINE will soon celebrate our 50th anniversary.

We recently signed an agreement to acquire the master recording rights and copyrights of the American musician WELDON IRVINE, and will be working on a series of reissues of his catalog to further promote his musical legacy. Whether it be through records, CDs, DVDs, books or magazines, we’ve spent the past half century introducing a wide variety of music to listeners across the world.

And now, we’re launching our analog record pressing business, and our business for the Metaverse. In the coming years, we’re sure to have a place in both the virtual and physical worlds; but I simply love records, and want to have them in both of these worlds.

P-VINE’s mission is to bring the world’s most fascinating music and culture to as many people as possible, regardless of the times or means, and we will continue to expand into new territories while keeping in mind “THE CHANGING SAME – things that never change.”
